So, the question still remains why isn’t God answering your prayers.
4. You Are Outside of His Will
1 John 5:14-15 (NIV)
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.
God is saying, I’ll answer you if what you asking is according to His will which means the reason why God may not be answering your prayers is because of what you are asking Him for is not according to His will for your life. So how do I find his will, you find it in His word, His will is manifested in his word. You pray according to the will of God and if it’s in line with the will of God you can rest assure, He hears us. The best thing we can do is examine ourselves and find out why He’s not responsive to our prayers.
5. Marital Conflict
1 Peter 3:7 New King James Version (NKJV)
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
Men we have to learn how to be more sensitive to our wives. One of the most difficult things I had to deal with was not having a father or some type of mentor, someone to show me how to be a man, a husband, and a father. Someone to show me how to deal with women the right way. I had to learn how to be a husband. I had to learn how to deal with the differences in our lives, and how to be sensitive to my partner. And this is something that I’m still working on after all these years of being married.
God answers prayers when you become sensitive and understanding to your wife, you have go into her world and deal with her at her level. I believe that the verse is so true for women. Women have to also be sensitive to their husbands. I believe that when you have marital harmony when you're living together peacefully rather than fighting or arguing. God will bless you and your prayer will be answered.
6. Unbelief
Matthew 17:14-21 (NKJV)
And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
When you come to God, you have to believe that He will do what you ask of Him as long as it's within His will for you. The reason God does not answer your prayers is because you don’t believe, you have doubts, you have question or you lack faith and you still have unbelieve in your heart.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
You have to believe that God going to answer your prayer.
7. Disregarding The Word of God
Proverbs 28:9 (NIV)
If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable.
If in your life you disregarded the word of God as an essential part, A guide to help you orchestrate your life, if you have no regard for the word of God, the Bible says your prayers is an abomination to God. If you don’t use the word of God to help make decisions in your life, if you don’t give any credence to the word of God when you making life decisions, God will not hear your prayer. It's detestable to Him!
That’s why some areas in our lives are a mess, that’s why you marriage is a mess, that’s why the kids are a mess. Whatever you may be going through the bible has the solution to your problem. The Bible is a prescription, it is a prescription for your ills, when you try to pray the bible says that your prayers are detestable to God.
I don’t know about you, but I have seen these 7 points in my life, I would even say that I've been guilty all 7. But God knows our sins and the blood of Jesus is able to wipe the slate clean. You might be guilty of some of these points or all, but God made provisions to forgive you, and to give you the freedom to start all over again.
