Mending a Broken Heart

Most of us came to Jesus Christ broken. Someway, somehow, we were broken, it could have been from being mentally or physically abused, broken relationships, Betrayals, Rejection, Grief.

Psalms 147:3 (AMP)

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

The heart is where we express what and how we feel:

  • If sad, a person may say I’m heart broken

  • If the person is insensitive, uncaring, cold, you may say that person is Heartless

  • If the person is emotional or sensitive, you may say that person wears there heart on their sleeve.

The heart is your emotional center (everything flows through it). The heart can get easily be broken and unbroken; it can also be played. That’s a lot of trauma on the heart!

Your mind may tell you one thing, but the heart tells you something else. We should never go by what the heart tells you, it will mislead you.

Jeremiah 17:9 -10 (NIV)

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

There are times we know what is in our heart, and at times we just don’t have any idea. The easiest way to find out what is in a person’s heart is to listen. Jesus says, out of the heart the mouth speaks.

Proverbs 27:19 (NIV) As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.

The heart is like a vessel, it can hold things and like a vessel it also can be broken, it can also be mended and healed.

The heart is where we reason and where we store things, in the heart there are small rooms. Each of them store good and bad. The Heart follows after what it values.

Luke 12:34 (KJV)

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

What is in our heart comes out when we are shaken.

Can you ever say I never raise my voice; I never get upset; even if that’s true it’s still Inside of you. Many marriages brake up because one or both are too broken to maintain a relationship. God uses seed, plant and harvest; the enemy must also use seed, plant, and harvest to accomplish things in you.

Examples: the enemy plants a though over and over until we say it, (a spirit of strife)

Proverbs 12:25 (KJV)

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.

What causes the heart to be broken heart

  • Broken relationships,

  • Disappointments,

  • Betrayals,

  • Misunderstandings,

  • Discouraging words,

  • Rejection,

  • Being blamed,

  • Being accused,

  • Contempt,

  • Shame,

  • Failure,

  • Violation of trust,

  • Loss and grief

  • Not being good enough

The heart of man was not made to endure sin and death. Man was created in the image of God, placed in the Garden of Eden to live forever and was never meant to experience sin and death.

Jesus wanted to make it clear: The thief comes to steal kill and destroy but Jesus came that we might have life and life abundantly.

God Bless, Israel
