Mending a broken Heart - Part 2

Symptoms of a broken heart

· Remembering/meditating past hurts

· Talking about past hurts

· Self-pity, no one cares

· Sighing

· Sadness

· Depression, heaviness

· Sickness

· Fatigue

· Loss of joy

· Guilt

· Inability to move on

· You forgive but, it comes back

· Grief

· Easily offended

· Rage

· No laughter, no joy

· Self-soothing (drug and alcohol abuse)

Brokenness can allow the enemy to torment a person. The enemy never has a legal right to torment a Christian. Just because you leave the door of your home or car unlocked does not give anyone a legal right to come in and steal from you. It may be easier for them, but they still do not have a legal right to do so.

Self-Soothing – A technique use when a person is feeling distressed, when emotions feel overwhelming, when situations feel like you can't stand them anymore. Instead of doing something that hurts you, try something that gives you pleasure and comfort.

We’ll learn to get used to it, and not even notice any more, my spirit knew something was wrong even though I did not know what it was.

You need to tell the Lord, by faith I open my heart to you, I cannot do it on my own.

Hebrews 4:12 (NET)

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

What causes a Christian to stay broken?

We have something wedged in our hearts that should not be. The psychiatrists believe it needs to be exposed. A study was done on people that suffering from depression and they ask would you rather be left alone or get shock treatment, 90% rather get the shock treatment then be alone with their thoughts. Their thought torments them. They don’t feel complete, there is something missing in there lives.

Psalm 139:23-24 (GNT)

23 Examine me, O God, and know my mind; test me, and discover my thoughts. 24 Find out if there is any evil in me and guide me in the everlasting way.

When a person relies on self-effort, the carnal mind holds on to a lie. We cannot fix ourselves. We need the grace of God, the gifts of the spirit to expose the lie. We need to open our hearts to God by faith.

Psalms 24: 7-10 (NIV)

Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—he is the King of glory.

Our minds and hearts cannot tell the truth from a lie. That is why the mind focuses on human nature (self-effort) and opposes God.

Remember it no more, Let it GO!

Romans 8:7 (NIV)

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

Give it up to GOD, unconditionally, Just give it up!

God Bless, Israel
