A Roots of Depresses:
Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease your ability to function at work and at home.
Hebrews 12:16-17 GOD'S WORD (GW)
Make sure that no one commits sexual sin or is as concerned about earthly things as Esau was. He sold his rights as the firstborn son for a single meal. You know that afterwards, when he wanted to receive the blessing that the firstborn son was to receive, he was rejected. Even though he begged and cried for the blessing, he couldn't do anything to change what had happened.
Esau became bitter, angry, rejected and depress he lost his rights as a firstborn. The moment you start hating, or being bitterness towards a person is the moment you become their slave. At work you think about that person, at home all you do is think about that person, on vacation you think about the person, that person is controlling all your thoughts. It effects everything about you. Hatefulness and Holiness don't dwell in the same heart, and without Holiness you will not see the Lord. We all will taste bitterness, but are we going to drink it. You have a choice! How about that person that hurt me, what should I do? You go and ask for forgiveness. But the person who hurt me won't ever ask for forgiveness, what should I do. Ask yourself what would Jesus do.
Carrying a Root of Bitterness will destroy you.
Satan uses depression as a tools to take Christians out of the will of God. Depression can affect your view of God, and destroy your inter most joy. It is impossible to live a Spirit-filled life without the fruits of the Spirit; joy, love, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Not only that, but anger can also lead to other negative emotions like hate, hopelessness, uselessness and overall sadness.
Bitterness (Anger) also affects you physically, where your demeanor changes, your looks change, you age faster and can also lead to other health issues such as: · A weaken immune system · Headaches · Problems with digestion · Insomnia · Fatigue · Hair loss · Increased anxiety · High blood pressure · Skin problems, such as eczema · Strokes
A study from Washington State University found that people over the age of 50 who express their anger by lashing out are more likely to have calcium deposits in their arteries, an indication that you're at a high risk for a heart attack. You can be sick and not be bitter, but if you have been bitter for a long time you will get sick from all that bitterness. Not only does Bitterness affect you spiritually but also physically. A person with a root of bitterness thinks that by changing their environment, their work place, their Church or their relationship they think everything will get better, but because they haven't dealt with that root of bitterness that root of bitterness will follow them everywhere they go.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
A friend that I known for years never dealt with the root of bitterness that grow from his first true relationship, that relationship ended on a bad note. So, he starts a new relationship with a girl that he met in rehab, you see by never dealing with the root cause of his problems he brings all that mess with him into this new relationship. When two people get together and they haven't dealt with issues of bitterness from their pass, all the garbage, all the bitterness all that anger comes with them, then they wonder what went wrong.
When a seed of bitterness is planted, that root as it grows will yield bitter fruit. And that root of bitterness, anger, unbelief, distrust, fear, unfaithfulness, or hate that root will grow in and around you, your children, your spouse your family and that bitter root will also filter down thought generations. But if that seed is one of Love, Kindness, Joy, Understanding and Compassion that yield good, sweet and plentiful fruit. If you have Anger, Resentment or Hate, it will just grow and grow and begin to cover and affect everything around you. That's what bitterness does. Which is why you have to catch it at the very beginning as a seedling before it takes hold. A root of bitterness is like a deadly infection that grows and infects everyone and everything around you.
Ephesians 4:30-31 (NKJV)
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
