The Bitter Root part: 5 (last Installment)

How can we remove that root of bitterness?

1. Let God Reveal It The root grows underground it's easy to hide, it grows deep in your heart.

Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV)

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

You might be sitting here today thinking this isn't for me, I'm talking to someone else when God is really talking to you. Let God reveal it.

Psalm 139:23-24 (TLB) Search me, 0 God, and know my heart; test my thoughts. Point out anything you find in me that makes you sad, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

2. Let Grace Remove It. You can't root it out of you without the Grace of God. What is Grace, grace is the desire and the ability to do the will of God. Justice is God giving us what we deserve, Mercy is God not giving us what we deserve, Grace is God giving us what we don't deserve.

Hebrews 12:15 (NIV) See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

3. Let good replace it. Peace and Holiness are link together unless you have peace you'll never have holiness. When you forgive you free two people yourself and that person you had harbor bitterness for. Forgive be free from it. Good, Love Peace, Holiness Trumps all.

Hebrews 12: 14 (NIV) Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Corrie Ten Boom was a Dutch Christian who, along with her father and other family members, helped many Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II. She and her family were imprisoned for their actions. She tells in her book how she and her sister where treated by the guards and this one guard use to abuse them, and when they ran them thought the delousing naked this guard would harass and rape them with his eyes.

Many years after the war she wrote a book The Hiding Place, it describes the ordeal and she was lecturing in Germany when this man came up to her and said do you remember me? She began to tremble, it was that guard that tormented her and her sister and he said to her I am a Christian can you forgive me for what I did to you, he extends his hand and when she grab his hand she felt like electricity running through her it was the power of God freeing her from all that bitterness she still had.

We need to make a choice to release all hurt that is bottled up inside you and repent for holding on to that poison in our hearts. Only God can get rid of the bitterness and any doubts, fears, resentments or hurts from the past, even somethings that is happening in your life right now.

Let go and let GOD!

God Bless, Israel
