The Law of Grace

ree

What was the purpose of the Law - the purpose of the law was the only way that the Jewish people understood how to please and know GOD. But when Grace steps in the earth (Jesus), they could not understand why, what was His purpose, so Paul had to clarify the whys.

Roman 7: 7 (HCSB)

What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin if it were not for the law.

Paul had to make statements like this all the time to clarify Grace.

Now Here is Grace (Jesus)

Matthew 5:17-19 (NIV)

17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches/others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus States - If anybody breaks the Law or teaches against the law then they will be call least in the Kingdom of Haven. He didn't come destroy the Law but to fulfil it. The Law is not bad. We need to understand that the Law is good and the Law has a purpose for everyone even believers. So, we are saved by Grace (Jesus) not by the Law.
