1.We Have Been Chosen
Ephesians 1:3-6 (NKJV)
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
Before you were born God chose you. It wasn’t your chose. God picked you out of all the billions of people in the world and chose you.
John 15:16 (NKJV)
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
In spite of what you already have done, let alone what you going to do, God still chose you. He set you aside in spite of all that. God looked down through time, He looked down through generations and saw when you would be born and chose you. He saw the full range of your life from the time you were born to the time you would die. He already saw your life and chose you anyway.
2.We Have Been Empowered to Be Holy and Blameless
He empowered us to be Holy and Blameless, Holiness is a lifestyle that God called us to live. God has made the determination that you can live Holy and Blameless. When God looks at you, He doesn’t see all your mess, He doesn’t see all the mistakes, He doesn’t see all your sins and all your wrong, He see you Holy and blameless.
The devil will make you feel that there’s no way you can be Holy, that you can’t be blameless, just look at all you have done.
The enemy will tell you that you are unloved, that you are unworthy, he’ll say; look at your sin pattern how can anybody love you. God knows everything you did in your pass, but He loves you anyway. He knows every place you’ve been in, but He loves you anyway.
The enemy is a master of manipulation, he will tell you nobody loves you; nobody cares, you never amount to anything. You have to learn to recognize the enemy’s voice and reject that voice and remind yourself that Jesus loves you.
3.We Have Been Predestined
Ephesians 1:5 (NKJV)
having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.
Predestined: To determine an outcome or course of events in advance by divine will or fate.
God has picked us out, He has selected us prior to. God had chosen us before He made the world. God already saw what you where go to be, He knew how messed up you going to be, and He chose you anyway.
Not only did He picked you ahead of time, He put a limit in advance on how far your drama could go. No matter what you’re going through in your life, no matter your pain, no matter what drama you are going through, God has restricted on how far it can go. No matter what you are going through, no matter how ugly it appears, Know that God has put a limit on as far it could go, and He did that ahead of time.
God would never allow you to take more then what you can handle.
4.We have been adopted
There’s always been a negative undertone about adoption, but to God it’s a great deal.
Adoption: Is the process by which a person who does not belong to a family is brought into a family, they have been made a full and legal family member with all the rights and privileges of being in the family.
And here’s the beauty of being adopted, we have been adopted into royalty.
We have been adopted into a family that is greater than any earthly family of which you can think. When you are adopted, it means you are special, it is such a powerful concept, that when God chose you it means every single promise that God made to the Jews from Genesis to Malachi are applicable to you today. If He promised it to the Jews, it’s also for us because we have been adopted into the household of faith.
5. We Have Been Accepted
Ephesians 1:6 (NKJV)
to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
The word accepted in the Greek means to be gifted with special honor, to be highly favored.
God will open doors, make provisions, He’ll do things on your behalf that you not deserve, that you have not earned, and you shouldn’t get. Why? because your favored.
6.We Have Been Redeemed
Ephesians 1:6 (NKJV)
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Redemption: To pay a ransom in full, it’s the action of gaining possession of something or someone in exchange for payment.
It means somebody has to pay a price for you to be set free. Someone has been taken hostage and the person who has taken them is willing to release them provided they pay a ransom. We all had been in taken captive at some time, when you look back at your life the devil held you captive and you weren’t able to get free from captivity.
Here’s the beauty of redemption, what you could not do on your own, Jesus came along and paid the price to those who had you captive. He set you free and now you’re no longer in bondage.
7.We Have Been Forgiven
Ephesians 1:6 (NKJV)
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Forgiveness is the act of pardoning an offender. The Greek translation for “forgiveness” literally means “to let go”
Jesus forgave our sins He send our sins away; He has pardoned us.
There is sin and sins, sins is what you do, but you were born with a sinful nature. God has redeemed us from our sin and forgave us of our sins.
8.We Have Been Expose to the Mystery of His Will
Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)
having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
God has expose us to a mysteries, He made known the mysteries of His Will. He is letting us know that prior to this time in history there was a secret, a mystery that was contain, that nobody knew and now He unfolds it so we can receive it.
Here’s the secret, that Jesus made available to us the Gentiles that we are fellow heirs of the same body and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel. The same promises and privileges that were given to the Jews are now available to us. Everything that God every promise, every inherence, every miracle, everything that God said to the Jews is applicable to us Gentiles.
Every promise God made, every miracle He performed, everything He said He would do for them we can claim it, we are made heirs through Jesus Christ. Everything He said He would do for them applies to us. If He said He will heal them, He will heal us. If he said He would deliver them, He would deliver us, If he said that He’ll work a miracle for them, He work a miracle for us.
So, what was the secret originally, the promises of God were only for the Jews.
9.We Have Obtained an Inheritance
Ephesians 1:11 (NKJV)
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
We have obtained an inheritance; we’ve been assigned an inheritance. God has given it to us, not because you earn it, not because of anything we did. The great thing about an inherent is that you didn’t have to earn it, you didn’t have to work for it, He just gave it to you. Here’s the beauty of it, Jesus already died so we can receive the inherence, He’s already shed his blood, He’s already been and went to the cross, it’s an inherence that you already have access to.
10.We Have Been Sealed
Ephesians 1:13 (NKJV)
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
To be sealed is to have a stamp that marks you with the all the promises in Jesus Christ. When you have a documents that has to be notarize, a Notary Public put a seal on your document.
When you get God’s seal, that seal not only saying that we have been chosen, it says we have been predestined, we have been accepted, we have been redeemed, we have been forgiven, it means the we have obtained an Inheritance, and we have been sealed by the blood of the lamb.
