Equip yourself against the enemy

You as a child of the living God

have more authority over the powers of darkness than you may realize. The bible doesn't just tell us about God's love, mercy, and grace. It also shows us the power and authority we have as His children. When it comes to spiritual warfare, we're not left helpless or alone. Here are five bible verses that will help equip you to stand firm against the force of darkness, proclaiming the authority you've been given in Jesus Christ

Luke10:19 (NKJV)

 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

These are Jesus words directly empowering His followers. Not only are we shielded, but we're also given authority over every power of the enemy. The enemy might try to scare or intimidate you, but this verse reminds us that God's authority flows through us as His children.

Mark16:17 (NKJV)

17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

Here Jesus Christ authority extends to believers as a sign. This isn't about exercising power for our benefit; it's about bringing freedom in the name of Jesus Christ. We stand in Jesus name knowing that it's by His power and authority that we overcome.

1John 4:4 (NKJV)

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We are reminded that we don't fight in our strength. When we face the enemy, we have the Holy Spirit within us. It's not a question of whether we can overcome. We already have victory because He who is within us is greater than any dark power.

James 4:7(NKJV)

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

This isn't just a call to action, it's a promise. When we submit to God and resist the enemy, we don't face a prolonged struggle. This verse assures us that the enemy flees in the face of a submitted resistant heart. Authority begins in submission to God.

 Matthew 16:19 (NKJV)

19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Jesus entrusted us with the keys of the Kingdom. This means we have authority to declare His power in the spiritual realm when we bind and loosen, in His name we enforce heaven's will on earth.

These verses don't leave us guessing about our authority in Christ, they assure us of it. If you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, then you're armed with His power, clothed in His authority. Stand firm and remember that in Him you have all you need to resist the enemy.

God Bless, Israel
