God only knows

Psalm 139: 1-3 (NIV)

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

God knows us better than we know ourselves. He is aware of every action and anticipates our innermost thoughts. It’s an active, rather than a passive, knowledge.

God only knows the nights that you are awake when everyone else is still sound asleep, you are too afraid of what might show up in your dreams, nobody sees you, nobody would ever believe what you see.

Everyday you try to pick up all the pieces, all the memories, they somehow never leave you, nobody sees you, nobody would ever believe you. God only knows what you've been through, God only knows what they say about you, God only knows how it's killing you.

But there's a kind of love that God only knows, God only knows the real you. There's a kind of love that God only knows. You keep a cover over every single secret, you keep them hidden deep in your heart, you are so afraid if your spouse saw them, they would leave you.

But God sees you, God will never leave you, God only knows what you've been through and there's a kind of love that God only knows.

If you are lonely, if you are ashamed, if you are misunderstood, you feel that if I could only start over, if I only could get a second chance things would be different. God knows where to find you, God knows how to break through, God knows the real you, There's a kind of love that God only knows.

If you really want to understand His love, don't listen to love songs, or people who throw the term love around. If you want to get to the depths of what it means to love and to be loved, look to the cross of Christ, because there God's love came to us. The cross is the ultimate expression of God's indecipherable love for us. If you ever wonder if God loves you look to the cross. The cross is God's way of saying, "I love you this much," with his arms outstretched.

God only knows!
