Ephesians 6:13-17(NIV)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
The armor of God represents the defense we must take in our spiritual lives. The Bible tells us that we are fighting a war against Satan and his minions, who seeks to destroy us. Therefore, we must take action and put on The Full Armor of God. We also as Christians need to understand that Satan has armor in which his servants trust in.
Luke 11:21-22 (NKJV)
When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
Satan has a system of beliefs which protects against believers of God. And he shares these beliefs with his spiritual children. Satan’s defense mechanisms range from bold proclamation of atheism, magical spells, curse, hex, incantation, deception, diversion, spiritual influence, evil wish, evil desire, hereditary seal, or blood oath, misinterpreting the Bible, and self-righteousness before God. It also includes spiritual disciplines like prayer and fasting, and reading and applying there interpretation of the Bible.
Mark 12:24 (NKJV)
Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?
Satan’s Armor
The belt of lies, the breastplate of wickedness, shield of disbelief, and a heart of stone, all defend Satan and his followers from understanding their doom and repenting. Satan’s armor functions as justification of spiritual and earthly events that defends against the conscience of God, the Spirit of God, and the word of God.
Because the purpose of the armor is not truth but comfort through self-deception, there’s no need or possibility of a logical or single system of spiritual disciplines, philosophy, or theology as a whole because sin is irrational.
Ecclesiastes 9:3
This is an evil in all that is done under the sun: that one thing happens to all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
We are born wearing Satan’s armor. It’s remove when we repenting of our sins. Yet once saved, we can still “present our members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness”
Romans. 6:12-14 (NKJV)
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
In Greek “instruments” is translated as weapons.
To overcome this fleshy tendency and to take off the armor of satan and to pick up the armor of GOD, we must approach our spiritual discipline with a posture of dependence on God.
God Bless, Israel
