Seven Jewels of Faith

What is the one true faith?

Since we are certain Jesus is the one true Lord. Christianity must be the one true faith. It would be illogical and ridiculous to think otherwise. Jesus Christ as the true God has given us true faith.

John 14:6 (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

What is Faith; to believe in something unseen.

And without faith, it is impossible to please God. See, anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who are faithful. No human being can please God if that person does not have faith. Faith empowers, and the more faith you have the more power you have.

Without faith our power is limited, but with faith our power is unlimited.

What God is saying is if you give Me just a little I can do a lot, if you can supply just a tiny bit of faith in His ability as God, nothing shall be impossible to you, we can do the impossible with a little faith.

Matthew 17:20 New King James Version (NKJV)

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Here are The Seven Jewels of Faith

2 Peter 1:5-9 New International Version (NIV)

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

1. Goodness

Goodness is virtue and holiness in action. It results in a life characterized by deeds motivated by righteousness and a desire to be a blessing. It's a moral characteristic of a Spirit-filled person. Goodness is not a quality we can manufacture on our own.

James 1:17 New International Version (NIV)

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

2. Knowledge

The word knowledge is an understanding, a recognition, or an acknowledgment. To “know” something is to perceive it or to be aware of it. The vast knowledge of God and creative power are unlimited. Not only does God have infinite knowledge, but it is absolute knowledge.

Romans 11:33 New King James Version (NKJV)

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

3. Self-Control

The very concept of “self-control” implies a battle between a divided self. It implies that our “self” produces desires we should not pursue but instead “control.” We should deny ourselves and take up our cross daily, Jesus says, our “self” produces desires that should be “denied” or “controlled.”

Luke 9:23 New King James Version (NKJV)

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

4. Perseverance

We live in a world where we have trouble and trials. Some trials simply come from just living in this fallen world. Some troubles are unique and vary in their affliction.

Hope is called an “anchor for the soul” an anchor giving security and stability in the midst of a storm. That is what hope does for us. We can remain steadfast, trusting God through difficulties and pains. Only with a secure hope rooted in the faithfulness of God, we will be able to weather the storms.

James 1:2-4 New International Version (NIV)

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

5. Godliness

Ungodly behavior is by nature destructive, Godliness is the awareness of God's authority over every aspect of life. Its life influenced by God and inspired by His reflection.

Godliness will make a difference in your life and enable you to make a difference in the lives of those around you. The godly person is committed to obeying God.

1 Timothy 6:6 New International Version (NIV)

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

6. Mutual Affection

As Christians, we should be known for our love and affection for one another. We should make a special effort to show affection. Loving affection should not be self-seeking fulfillment. Some of the most touching passages in the Bible recount how special moments of forgiveness, reconciliation, and friendship it was based on acts of affection.

Acts 20:36-38 Good News Translation (GNT)

36 When Paul finished, he knelt down with them and prayed. 37 They were all crying as they hugged him and kissed him good-bye. 38 They were especially sad because he had said that they would never see him again. And so they went with him to the ship.

7. Love

The Bible says that “love is of God” and “God is love” in other words, love is a fundamental characteristic of who God is. Everything God does is driven and influenced by His love.

1 John 4:7-8 New King James Version (NKJV)

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. The Bible uses several different words for “love” Agape love is not like brotherly love or love

between a husband and a wife. It is the most self-sacrificing love that there is. This type of love is the love that God has for His own children. This type of love is what was displayed on the cross by Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

God’s love does not require us to be “worthy” to receive it; His love is truly compassionate and gracious love. You see, nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ.

Those are the seven jewels of Faith! We should be assured and motivated by the wonderful and powerful gift of faith. We should be inspired and encouraged to take advantage of the gift of faith. We may be small, and our resources may be little, but with faith, we can still accomplish what is seemingly impossible.

We need only to tap into the unlimited potential of faith in God which is un-limitations.

God Bless, Israel
