Set aside what you thought about Grace, act as if you are hearing it for the first time. Years ago, there was a Kellogg’s commercial for cornflakes, we all ate cornflakes when we were young, but have not bought a box in sometime. So, Kellogg’s did some research and found that many of us use to eat cornflakes as kids. So, they came out with this new campaign slogan and it simply said, “taste them again for the very first time.” We need to taste Grace again for the very first time. You see the power of this word is miss, the significance of this word get missed. This word overtime became insignificant in our lives.
Hebrews 12:15 (NIV)
See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
Graces makes all the difference, when Grace is missing, when Grace isn’t present, when Grace is replaced by a cheap substitute what happens is that substitute turns everything toxic. The enemy has a field day. We have to understand our needs for Grace; we need to appreciate Grace. How you can embrace Grace without understanding sin.
Romans 3:23 (NIV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We sometimes look at sin and tend to compare our sins to someone else’s. Yeah, I’ve sinned but not like him. Compared to her I’m doing good. What you are doing is dismissing your own sins by comparing the sins you committed to the sins of others. You’re sinning right there “self-righteousness and pride” is a sins. Everyone has sin, everyone has fallen short of God’s standards. It’s like a virus that we can’t get rid of. Sin is like the Hantavirus or Ebola that spreads throughout the world, like the plague.
Romans 5:12 (NIV)
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way, death came to all people, because all sinned—
It all started with Adams, everybody has been infected, we all have been diagnosed with it, this Virus called Sin. Then we are introduced Grace (Jesus Christ), the antidote, a cure for this infection a cure for this virus that we all carry.
Romans 5:15 (NLT)
15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
Grace is greater than any sin, whatever mistake you made in your life, whatever you most regret, whatever season of life that you like to pretend it never happened Graces is Greater.
The Greatness of Grace makes all the difference. It’s Grace that gives us freedom, it gives us hope, no matter what you have done. No matter how severe that infection is, no matter how debilitating your sin is, Grace is Greater than.
Romans 5:16-18 (NLT)
16 And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. 18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.
Everyone has sin, but through Jesus Christ everyone can be made right. Countless of people don’t know or understand the Grace of God. Many believers live with a sense of shame and condemnation or fear of failing. How many live discouraged and depressed because they can’t measure up. We need to understand how Grace really is, and how Grace is so misunderstood.
I heard this man on the radio trying to describe Grace. He said Grace is like the oars on a boat we are in the boat and there’s a strong current (which is sin) and it’s pulling us towards hell. God has provided us with these oars and if you keep rowing you will make it to heaven, but if we were to ever quit rolling, we would go to hell.
That’s not Amazing Grace, that’s amazing you.
Grace is God's unmerited favor. When you depend on Him and not on your own strength or understanding, you qualify to receive His Grace upon your life.
We are unworthy of God’s Grace, but He gives it freely.
The Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible: “Grace is the dimension of divine activity that enables God to confront human indifferences and rebellion with an unlimited capacity to forgive and to bless.”
When Grace Happens:
Addictions are Broken, Marriage are Restored, Families are re-united, You’re Freed for Condemnation, Chains are Broken, Life finds Meaning. We have new life in Jesus Christ, That’s the Amazing Grace, The Grace of GOD!
God Bless, Israel
