Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
When looking at the landscape of this world, we don’t take time to look at unity, especially in your family and in church, unity is under attacked. The devil hates the unity. We need to understand the enemy’s playbook and his schemes.
Have you ever been in a season of your life where you’re praying for something and that thing that you are praying for has the highest priority in your life, and everything else seems to not as important in comparison to that thing.
As we go through this post you need to understand that the enemy has a playbook and he is motivated to divide us.
Here are some points regarding unity.
The enemy is a deviant divider, The Greek word for devil is “Diabolos” and it shares a root with the verb “Diairesi” which means Spit or divide. Found in his name, he is a splitter or divider, the question is why is he such a deviant divider.
Here are two motivating factors that makes him such a deviant divider.
1. The devil hates the Father, hates the Son and hates the Holy Spirit and he despises their unity. The Trinity is the perfect example of unity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit the three working as one.
2. The devil looks at them and sees them and says okay the three of you are going to be known as unity, then I will be known as the divider. Adam and Eve divided, Cane and Abel divided, Jacob and Esau divided, Joseph and his brothers divided, divided, divided, divided.
He hates unity, there’s a bigger reason why he such a deviant divider. A house divided cannot stand.
Mark 3:24-25 New International Version (NIV)
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
The devil doesn’t want the church of God to stand because its only when we stand that we can step on his neck and crush him underneath our feet, of course, he doesn’t want us to stand, of course is going to try to divide us, he knows that a house divided cannot stand, he’s going to try everything within his power to divide the family of God.
In Acts 2: 42-47 helps us to understand that one of the reasons why the first church exploded the way they did was because the unity.
Think about it, they worship in the same place consistently, they all had one mine and they saw everything they own as a whole and not as individuals, unity was one of the big reason why the church grow in the beginning.
There are many believers that have become so comfortable with distance from the house of God. They merely see worshiping together as an inconvenient scheduling conflict on an already busy schedule.
The reason is obvious, just go back to the first church, they worship together as a family consistently it was a key part of the church being healthy and powerful that’s a crucial part in unity. We have to fight for unity especially in the house of the Lord, and it’s not good if we aren’t worshiping together.
We have come to a place where we have let what divides us become what defines us, but it’s long past due that what unites us and what describes us is Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:11 (NLT)
In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and He lives in all of us.
The enemy is a note taker, and he hates his notes on unity, some believers are under the wrong impression when it comes to the enemy, they believe that the enemy has all knowledge, only God has all knowledge. That’s why he takes notes, and he’s been taking notes since the beginning.
If we would be able to look at the enemy’s notebook and see the notes he’s been taking since the beginning of time, we would see he wrote “be careful unity get answers”.
Matthew 18:19 (NLT)
“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.
Unity, in the name of Jesus Christ gets answers.
The enemy has seen God make good on this promise time after time, after time, unity in the name of the Lord brings answers.
Let me ask you this, why is there such a battle at the end of a message where you feel in your heart that you are supposed to go up for prayer, and you are wrestling inside.
There’s an intense battle inside, you might think that it’s a battle between you and yourself or you and your pride, but it’s a battle is between you and the devil.
Why would the enemy want to war with you at the end of the message, when you feel the Holy Spirit wants you to go up to the altar for prayer.
Because the enemy is desperate to keep you from agreeing with someone in the name of Jesus Christ. So, he is going to try and stop you because unity brings answers. Another thing you would see in the enemy’s notebook is unity is more effective against its enemies.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 & 12 (NLT)
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
The enemy has seen this time and time again, where two come together in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ they become a lot more terrifying to him than one.
The enemy hates when we come together to fight him, because unity is very effective against the enemy. When you go alone that’s the easiest way to be attacked, but unified is the wisest way to bring an assault on the enemy.
Do you think that the enemy wasn’t sitting there watching the Tower Babylon and how God responded to their unity, even when it was for the wrong reasons, and how God rip down the Towers of Babylon and scattered all the peoples across the world and gave them all differently languages.
The enemy has been trying to separate us from God since he fell. He has been violently trying to separate us from one another since he saw that Tower fall. Why do you think his so passionate for unity on his side and division on ours. Because he saw how God responded to unity, and if that was unity with bad motives, can you imagine what unity in the name of Jesus Christ is capable of.
TAKE A MINUTE: I want you to think about that person you’re frustrated with and make a mental note of all the reasons why you are so distance from them.
You see, God looks at that person you’re frustrated with the same way He looks at you. Don’t you think it grieves Him to watch you be so frustrated with someone He is so obsessed with.
Now, take those notes you made in your mind and burn.
Life is too short to be judging them, to be staying away from them. It’s time for you to fight for unity with one another. It’s time to fight for unity, so we can come together.
We have to come against the one who has been getting in between us, to divide us.
So, we would never experience God’s response to our unity and God’s commanded blessings.
We have to fight for unity in the name of Jesus Christ!
God Bless, Israel
