Being spiritually weak means lacking spiritual strength in God which can be a lack of spiritual growth, instability, or immaturity. A spiritually weak person is unstable in all ways and can show no zeal for God. To be able to withstand the wiles of the enemy ones as a Christians need to be spiritually alert.

Ask yourself these questions,

·       Am I actually growing in the Lord?

·       Do I enjoy studying and praying at my prayer altar?

·       Do I still hear God speaking to me?

·       Can the devil flee at my sight?

·       Do you find it difficult to give your tithe and offerings?

If your answers are no, then there is an indication that you are spiritually weak.

Life has a way of wearing us down. Whether it’s the daily grind, unexpected trials, or spiritual battles, we all face moments when we feel too weak to keep going. When that happens, we have to remember the truth: Our strength comes from the Lord and His strength knows no limits.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV)

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Here are some practical steps help you keep going when you feel weak.

Prayer is our direct line to God. When we feel weak, the first thing you should do is run to Him in prayer. Pour out your heart and tell Him how you feel. He can handle it.

Remember, Psalm 46:1 (NIV) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

God’s Word is a source of strength and encouragement. When you feel weak, meditate on scriptures that remind you of God’s promises and His power.

Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)

29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.

Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, it’s a powerful weapon against feelings of weakness. It shifts our focus from our problems to the greatness of our God. You won’t feel like worshipping when you are weak, but it’s one of the best strategies to overcome the weariness of your flesh.

Sometimes, our feelings of weakness come from physical exhaustion. God designed our bodies to need rest. Take time to rest and recharge. Jesus Himself took time to withdraw and rest.

Mark 6:31 (NIV)

Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

The enemy wants to isolated you. We are not meant to walk this journey alone. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can encourage and pray for you. The Bible reminds us to bear one another’s burdens.

Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.

The power of life and death is in the tongue, speak words of life and strength over yourself. Declare God’s promises out loud.

Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

It is also important to remain vigilant and aware of the signs of spiritual weakness, such as  feeling overwhelmed, pride, or a lack of enthusiasm for God. By tackling these issues and seeking spiritual nourishment,  you can work towards spiritual growth and strength. Take your spiritual temperature every once in a while to know if you are actually weak or strong spiritually. Developing a strong spiritual life takes work but it is doable.

God Bless, Israel
