I’m stuck!

Have you ever tried to pray only to find yourself wondering where to begin. Your mind clutter, you're unsure of what to say. You want to enjoy fellowship with God, but the words just don't seem to flow. That wall of silence can feel very discouraging.

Matthew 26: 40-41 (NKJV)

40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

This is key, the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. You see, the flesh resists prayer, the Spirit within you longs for communion with God.

Romans 8:26 (NKJV)

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for, but the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words. So what do you do when you don't know what to pray? Wait, stop striving, stop trying to force words, stop working expressions just wait on him.

Psalms 80:18 (NKJV)

Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.

First comes the quickening of the Spirit, and then prayer flows. At first, waiting may feel tense, 5 minutes past, 10 minutes, 15 minutes and still nothing. But if you refuse to give up, there comes a moment, a sudden moment where the distractions fade, doubt is silence, fear subsides. And then prayer becomes like breathing, rhythmic and natural.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Waiting positions you for renewal. It's in the stillness that the Spirit quickens your heart and fills you with supernatural strength. Many believers get in their own way because they're demanding a very specific type of encounter or they chased after what someone else experience, instead of just surrendering to what God is doing in the moment.

Real encounters come not by striving, but through surrender. So when you don't know what to pray don't panic, don't force it just wait, the Holy Spirits already found the flow. You simply need to yield to Him. When words fail wait, the Holy Spirit will speak louder than anything you could say.

God Bless, Israel
