Every demon in hell knows there are two types of Christians, those who pose no threat to the kingdom of darkness and those who cause chaos in the enemy’s camp. From the moment you become born again your name was added to the enemy’s most wanted list. But when you become truly spirit filled you graduate from being on their watch list to being on their panic list. The difference isn’t just about salvation it’s about the supernatural authority that Jesus purchased for you on the cross.
Here are 5 things demon fear
1. Demons fear the most about you is that they know you also have the same authority and power that Jesus Christ himself had while He was on earth. When Jesus walked upon the face of this earth satan and his kingdom did everything possible to get rid of Him. But before Jesus left the earth physically He handed that same authority to you. This means the enemy cannot get rid of Jesus presence on earth because He continues to live through us.
Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
The Greek word for Power here is Exousia meaning delegated authority or the right to exercise power. When a believer truly understands that they carry the same authority that raised Jesus from the dead, demons will also recognize they’re no longer dealing with a victim but with a victor. Most Christians live far beneath their spiritual authority because they’ve never been taught who they really are in Christ. They see themselves as just simply a sinners saved by Grace instead of Saints Empowered by Grace. They pray like beggars instead of ruling like kings.
But when the Holy Spirit opens a believer’s eyes to their true identity as a joint heir with Jesus Christ as one who is seated in heavenly places demons know the game has changed. The enemy generally hates believers who know their rights. The devil would rather have a million Christians who see themselves as powerless than one Christian who knows they carry the authority of Heaven. When you know who you are in Christ you don’t beg demons to leave you demand them to leave. You don’t fight from a position of weakness but by the power given to you though Jesus Christ. You enforce victory from a position of strength, demons can sense when they’re dealing with a believer who knows their identity and it terrifies them because they know their intimidation tactics just won’t work.
2. Demons fear the prayer life of a spirit filled believer. When you are someone who prays consistently your prayer limits the amount of damage or evil that can happen around you. But not just any prayer, they fear the prayer that comes from understanding your position as a priest. When you understand that you carry this same eternal priestly authority your prayers shift from petition to proclamation. When you pray knowing that angels are assigned to perform the Word of God that comes from your mouth demons know they’re in trouble, they can’t withstand the prayer of a believer who prays from their position in Jesus Christ rather than from their problems.
Demons don’t fear religious prayers, repetitive prayers, or even loud prayers. What they fear is the prayer of a believer who understands they have the same access to the throne room of God that Jesus Christ has.
Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
The Greek word for boldly is Paresia, meaning fearless confidence and unrestricted speech, this isn’t arrogance this is Authority.
3. Demons fear most is the worship that flows from a spirit filled believer.
Acts 16:25-26 (NKJV)
25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
This wasn’t just singing this was warfare worship that literally shook the kingdom of darkness. What demons understand about worship that many Christians don’t, Worship is Warfare. When you worship God in spirit and in truth you’re not just expressing your love for God, you’re declaring war on the kingdom of darkness. You’re announcing that Jesus is Lord and that His Kingdom is greater than any opposing force. You’re releasing the atmosphere of heaven into your situation. When you truly worship God you’re boasting about His greatness in the face of your enemies, you’re celebrating His victory before you even see it manifested and honestly you’re making a show of His power that demons can’t ignore or withstand. Spirit filled worship isn’t just emotional expression It’s spiritual warfare; it builds a throne for God in your situation.
The Hebrew word for inhabits is Yashab meaning to sit down as a judge or to establish residence. So when you worship you’re inviting God to establish His rule and reign in your circumstances. Demons flee from genuine worship because they can’t stand to be in the presence of God’s glory and when they hear true worship it reminds them of what they lost when they rebelled.
It also activates Angelic activity because angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation.
Hebrews 1:14 (NKJV)
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
4. Demons fear the bold confession and declaration of God’s word from a spirit filled believer.
Revelation 12:11 (NKJV)
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
When you speak God’s word with faith and authority you’re releasing the same creative power that spoke the universe into existence. Demons tremble when they hear a believer speak God’s word with conviction because they know God’s word.
Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
When you speak God’s word you’re releasing divine decrees that have the power to change circumstances, break bondages, and establish God’s will on earth. But demons don’t fear just any confession of Scripture. They fear the confession that comes from revelation knowledge. There’s a difference between quoting bible verses and speaking God’s word with the authority of the Holy Spirit.
When the word becomes revelation in your spirit, when you speak it knowing that it’s God’s will and that it has the power to perform itself demons recognize they’re facing something they cannot withstand. The confession of a spirit filled believer is particularly powerful because it’s backed by the Blood of Jesus Christ. When you speak God’s word while truly understanding what the Blood has accomplished, you’re not just making positive statements you’re actually enforcing a legal victory that was won at Calvary. Demons have absolutely NO LEGEL RIGHT to resist the word of GOD spoken by someone who is covered by the Blood of Jesus.
5. Demons fear most about spirit filled believers is their understanding of Spiritual, Warfare and their willingness to engage in it.
Ephesians 6:10-12 (NKJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Most Christians either ignore spiritual warfare completely or approach it with fear and superstition. But spirit filled believers who understand their authority in Jesus Christ engage in spiritual warfare with confidence and strategic understanding they know that the battle is not for victory, but from victory. Jesus Christ has already won and they’re simply enforcing that victory.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV)
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
These weapons include the name of Jesus Christ, The Blood of Jesus Christ, The Word of God, Prayer, Fasting, Worship, and the Authority given to every believer.
Matthew 16:19 (NKJV)
And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
When demons encounter a believer who knows how to bind and loosen, who understands territorial authority who can discern spirits who decern and cast out demons who knows how to break generational curses they know they’re facing someone who poses a serious threat to their operations.
The strategic warfare of spirit filled believers is particularly terrifying to demons because it’s not random or emotional but calculated and effective. These believers understand that different situations require different strategies that only come out through prayer and fasting.
Matthew 17:21 (NKJV)
However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
What makes all of these elements truly terrifying to demons is when they’re combined in one believer who walks in consistent fellowship with the Holy Spirit, A spirit filled believer who knows their identity, prays with authority, worship in warfare speaks God’s Word with power and engages in strategic spiritual combat this is hell’s worst nightmare because they represent the full expression of Jesus Christ’s victory on earth.
Demons study believers to identify their weaknesses but they also recognize their strengths. They can tell the difference between religious activity and spiritual power between Bible knowledge and Revelation Knowledge between church attendance and Kingdom advancement. They know when they’re facing someone who is truly filled with the Holy Spirit and walking in divine authority, the goal isn’t to become obsessed with what demons think about. The goal is to become so filled with the Holy Spirit and so established in your identity in Jesus Christ that demonic opposition actually become an opportunity to display God’s power rather than a source of fear or intimidation. When you know what hell fears about you, you can walk in the confidence that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Remember, demons are not afraid of your education, your achievements, your personality, or your natural abilities. They’re afraid of Jesus Christ in you and the hope of glory. They’re afraid of the Holy Spirit’s power operating through a yielded vessel. They’re afraid of a believer who has discovered their true identity and is walking in their God Given Authority. Stop living beneath your Spiritual Inheritance, Stop being intimidated by forces that are already defeated, Stop allowing demons to convince you that you’re powerless when Jesus Christ has given you power over all the power of the enemy. The kingdom of darkness is terrified of who you really are in Jesus Christ. It’s time you discovered who you really are!
God Bless, Israel
